time back.

A lot of what eats your week doesn’t need you. I find the work that repeats, hand it to systems that actually do it, and leave your team able to run them without me.

Fix what’s eating your week

None of them need an AI strategy. They need someone to fix them.

The same task, rebuilt from scratch every time

Bookkeeping, scheduling, estimating, invoicing. None of them get easier the tenth time, because nothing remembers how you did them the first nine.

The top of the funnel never stops

Keep it full or the leads dry up. There’s no room left in a normal week to also do that by hand.

Follow-up dies in your head

Who to contact next, and when. No system holds that. It lives in your memory until it doesn’t.

Email eats your day

Say an hour a day on scheduling replies alone. That’s 5 hours a week gone before you’ve touched the work that pays.

You already tried the chatbot.

You know AI matters. You tried ChatGPT. It answered some questions, and then it became one more tab you don’t open.

Every week brings ten new tools and a hundred new gurus, and you don’t have the hours to sort what’s real. Meanwhile the scheduling, the follow-ups, the quoting, and the inbox still belong to you.

You don’t doubt AI can help. You’re just tired of being pitched.

Who you’d be talking to

Ryan Heneise, outdoors, in a blue jacket
  • Building software since 2004
  • Ran my own shop, 2004 to 2019
  • Founded Donor Tools and MemberDrive
  • Tyler, Texas. Remote everywhere else.

I’m Ryan Heneise. I’ve built software for small businesses for 20 years, and for 15 of them I was running one.

Booster Stage was a web development shop I started in 2004 and ran until 2019. I hired, I sold, I kept the pipeline full, and I did the invoicing at night after the real work was done. I know what the office side of a business costs an owner, because it cost me.

Along the way I founded Donor Tools, one of the first web-based donor management systems for nonprofits. It grew to more than 600 customers before I sold it to my partners. I still run MemberDrive, a fundraising platform for small charities. Most recently I led engineering at a software company that helps online sellers price and sell across Amazon, eBay, and Walmart.

I know which tools are real and which are demos, because I’ve paid for both. I use AI every working day in my own businesses, so nothing I recommend is something I read about last week.

I live on a small homestead outside Tyler with my family, and I serve as treasurer on the board of Chesterton Academy of Tyler. I don’t sell software and I don’t take a commission on it. If the free version is good enough, I’ll tell you. If the answer is to buy nothing, I’ll tell you that too.

What I actually do

Three steps, in this order. You can stop after any one of them.

I find the one thing costing you most

Fifteen minutes on a video call. You walk me through a normal week: the email, the scheduling, the quoting, the follow-ups, the reports nobody wants to build. I ask questions and take notes.

I won’t prescribe anything on that call. Picking a tool live is guessing, and guessing is how people end up with software they stop opening. I go away and do the work instead.

Free 15 minutes Remote

I come back with the fix

A couple of days later, a second fifteen-minute call. I name the bottleneck back to you, the one tool that fixes it, what it costs a month, and the first thing to do about it this week. You get that in writing to keep.

Then it’s your call. Run with it yourself, hand it to someone on your team, or pay me to build it. The recommendation is yours either way.

Free 15 minutes Yours to keep

Build it yourself, or build it with me

Some owners take the recommendation and run with it. Good. That’s what it’s for. The rest want it built, and there are two ways to do that.

As a one-off project, I build the fix and hand it over working. Monthly, we build it together: two 45-minute sessions where you share your screen, we take one process at a time, cut the steps that don’t need to exist, and automate what’s left. Either way you own what comes out of it, and your people can run it without me.

What your report reveals

Four things you’ll know that you don’t right now.

Your real bottleneck

The repeated task creating the most drag on your time, your revenue, or your customers. It may not be the one you expect.

Hours you can get back

A credible weekly number, grounded in what you told me, not a formula.

The fix that fits

One recommendation, weighted toward whichever you need most: more revenue, hours back, or happier customers.

Your first move

Sized so you can start this week, not a six-month rollout.

Three ways to work together

Start with the free call, or go straight to the one that fits.

The free Mini Business Assessment

The one thing this page asks you to do, and it’s free. Here is what it involves, so nothing about it is a surprise.

What it is
Two short video calls, fifteen minutes each, a few days apart, scheduled around your day. The first finds your biggest bottleneck. The second hands you the fix for it.
Where & cost
Over video, wherever you are, so your location doesn’t decide whether I can help. Free. No card, no deposit, no follow-up ambush.
What happens
You show me the work that repeats. I go and find the right fix, then bring it back, rather than guessing at one live.
What you keep
The recommendation in writing: the tool, what it costs, and your first step. Yours whether or not we ever speak again.

Who this is for

And who it isn’t. Saying so up front saves us both a call.

This is for you if

  • You own and operate a business with roughly 2 to 20 employees: trades, professional services, retail, dental or medical, a nonprofit, an agency.
  • Your week includes repetitive back-office work: email triage, scheduling, quoting, follow-ups, reporting, content.
  • You want working systems your staff will use.

This isn’t for you if

  • You want a flashy demo instead of a working system.
  • You want to be sold software. I don’t sell software, and I demo paid tools next to the free alternatives, with the tradeoffs named.
  • You want someone physically in the building every week. I work remotely, and the systems I build don’t need me standing next to them.

Fifteen minutes to find out if this is real.

If I can’t find anything worth automating, I’ll say so and you’ll have lost fifteen minutes. If I can, you’ll have it in writing.
